  • Full-Time Maintenance Coordinator/ HVAC Technician

    SUMMARY

    Assists the Director of Operations Support in meeting the property and building needs of the Support Center, Service Center and all store locations.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

    Inspects the Support Center, Service Center, all store locations, vehicle fleet, tractors and trailers.

     

    • Reviews the equipment in all buildings to ensure proper operation.
    • Inspects all buildings for safety and building code compliance.
    • Coordinates repair work with contractors.
    • Completes minor repair or replacement work.
    • Effectively communicates with location supervisors, vendors and customers in a professional manner.
    • Inspects vehicle fleet and schedules maintenance and repairs.
    • Must be available to work a flexible schedule.
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    The selected candidate must have HVAC Michigan license with the following classes:

    • Class 2 HVAC equipment 
    • Class 5 Limited Heating 
    • Class 7 Limited Refrigeration 
    • Class 10D Gas piping

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinatory of education and experience.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to understand and to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Must be available to assist with emergency repair situations after hours.
