    Job Description

    The SEMCA Business Resource Network (BRN) is a collection of businesses who financially contribute for Success Coaches to work with employees to address barriers that may prevent them from maintaining employment. The Business Resource Network Associate works in coordination with the Business Development Coordinator to help establish Business Resource Networks across the SEMCA region.

    Pay range is $48,000- $52,000 with a competitive benefit package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 403(b) retirement plan with employer match, paid holidays, and paid time off.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support the Business Development Coordinator (BDC) with employer outreach through organized promotional events, cold calls, and responding in a timely manner to requests for information from interested employers
    • Assist in the administrative functions of the program under the direction of the BDC
    • Represent SEMCA at public and community events as requested by BDC
    • Work on tasks and projects assigned by the BDC
    • Assist the BDC with organizing monthly reports for the State of Michigan
    • Use data to establish reports supporting employee retention and other metrics established by BDC
    • Attend BRN council meetings with employers and Success Coaches
    • Assist with establishing BRN marketing materials with Communications Director
    • Assist in the development of additional incentives for employees and employers

    All SEMCA team members are expected to be technically competent and committed to continuous development of their skills. The following skills, knowledge and education or certifications are specifically required for this position:
    Required Qualifications:

    • Associate degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or another relevant field
    • Minimum three (3) years of organizational and administrative experience in a fast-paced professional environment
    • Self-motivated and skilled at organization, multitasking, and prompt follow-up 
    • Proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft Office
    • Familiarity with WordPress CMS
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Experience with employer and community engagement/outreach
    • Comfortable speaking in front of a large audiences
    • Ability to provide own transportation
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or another relevant field
    • Work experience with a non-profit organization
    • Work experience with workforce development programs
    • Knowledge of current employee retention issues in Michigan and the SEMCA region
    • Experience in business-to-business (BTB), marketing, or sales

    Physical Demands
    Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a normal office setting and use standard office equipment including a computer, vision to read printed materials on an LCD screen and smartphone, hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person and over the telephone.  These requirements may be accommodated for otherwise qualified individual requiring and requesting and/or needing additional accommodations.
