    The Specialists primary responsibility is to ensure that Production Tooling is built to QMC Standards, runs at quoted SPM and makes parts that meets Quality expectations.  
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to...
    • Exemplify QMC Values and encourages others to do the same.
    • Troubleshooting in Press and in the Tool Room.
    • Head up die continuous improvement projects.
    • Notify Manager of requirements for the Tool Room.
    • Proficient in the Safe operation of Tool Room Equipment.
    • Repair in Press Transfer and Progressive Dies in a Timely manner. 
    • Repair Dies in Tool Room when not working in the Press.
    • Assist the team in the elimination of Press Downtime and Quality Issues.
    • Assist with Die improvements in effort to improve Efficiency and Quality
    • Mentor Tool and Die Makers in die trouble shooting and root cause analysis.
    • Review die designs and support Tool buy-offs.
    • Must be able to MIG and TIG weld.
    • Open and understand CAD tooling designs and modify as necessary
     
    Education / Licenses / Work Experience Requirements:
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Journeyman status as Tool and Die Maker, as result of formal Apprenticeship Program.
    • 8 years minimum in a new die build shop.
    • 8 years’ minimum experience in die tryout.
    • 8 years’ minimum experience with CAD.
    • Knowledge of Transfer and Progressive Press Room Equipment Setups and Operation
    • Possess strong work ethics.
    • Ability to effectively work efficiently.
    • Ability to generate results to be measured by reduction of press down time and quality alerts.
    • Ability to Embrace QMC Values and be a Leader to the Team.
