The Livonia Chamber’ fourth annual Connecting Cultures initiative is expanding into a new, half-day workshop to focus on implicit bias. This is defined as one’s attitudes or stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious matter. Recognizing all people have personal experiences that lead to assumptions in our interactions with others, this session is designed to help the audience recognize these thoughts in a nonjudgmental fashion and focus on connecting with people as individuals.
The program begins with breakfast and networking, followed by comments from Keith Allman, CEO of Masco Corp, who will discuss why his company finds great value in diversity and inclusion initiatives. The program will also include roundtable discussions and sharing ideas on how to implement inclusion strategies into the workplace.
