Many of us recognize Paula Tutman from her three-decade, award-winning career as broadcast journalist, but there is so much more to her story. She is communications instructor, author of books and screenplays, and self-admitted “volunteer-aholic” as part of her life story that took her around the world where she developed a passion for art and nature.
Ms. Tutman has worked at WDIV as a specialty and general assignment reporter since 1992, after working reporting jobs in Louisville and Baltimore. Originally a farm girl from the Chesapeake Bay area, she spent her early childhood living in two different regions of Africa.
She has written several books, including a novel series titled DEADLINE!, a thriller novel inspired by her experience as a journalist. As part of her community work, she founded the Children’s Tooth Fairy Foundation, of a nonprofit organization that provides education and dental care funding to uninsured and underserved children in southeastern Michigan.
In our virtual program, Paula will talk about her career, interesting things she’s covered, how she has handled her job during the pandemic over the past year, and answer audience questions.
