SPREE - Third
Week of June
Every
year, the people of Livonia celebrate the anniversary of the founding
of the City with a week-long birthday party. Held at Ford Field, on the
corner of Farmington and Lyndon Roads during the third week of June, Livonia
Spree has something for everyone in the family: delicious food, great
music ranging from country to jazz, a fantastic family carnival, and of
course, the Grand Finale Fireworks Extravaganza on Sunday night. Spree
is held for six days in the third week of June with an annual attendance of
350,000.
Arts Festival - Second Weekend of June
The annual Arts Festival is held the second weekend in June at the Greenmead
Historical Park at the corner of Newburgh and Eight Mile Roads. The Festival
features over 200 juried exhibitors, free admission and parking, entertainment

Highland
Games - First Saturday in August
During the first weekend in August, thousands of Scots and non-Scots flock
to Historic Greenmead to partake in the Annual Highland Games. Whether
your pleasure is observing the Heavy Athletic competition like the Caber
Toss, cheering on your favorite Highland Dancer or Pipe Band, or having
a wee pint of ale while listening to the latest Celtic entertainers, the
Annual Highland Games is sure to tickle your fancy. For more information,

Music Under the Stars Concerts
Free outdoor concerts are sponsored by the Livonia Arts Commission and
the Parks and Recreation Department. Concerts are held on Thursdays
during July and August at various city park locations from 7:30 p.m.
- 9:00 p.m. Music featured includes classical, big band, popular and
jazz.
Events at Greenmead
Greenmead Historical Park hosts events throughout the year, primarily
on Saturdays, that range from flea markets to Christmas activities to a popular fall festival.
