Livonia has a wide array of family oriented activities and parks.
Abundant recreational opportunities contribute greatly to Livonia's premier quality of life for families and individuals. The city has set some 1,400 acres for recreation and has a modern 130,000 square foot community recreation center, along with many other recreational venues.
LIVONIA COMMUNITY RECREATION CENTER
Built in 2003, the Center creates an affordable recreational facility for residents. It includes two indoor pools with a 250 foot water slide, 27,000 square feet of gymnasium, a fitness club with training equipment, an indoor track, a giant indoor play structure and much more. LIVONIA JUNIOR ATHLETIC LEAGUE
The community youth athletic program provides developmental and competitive sports opportunities for more than 1,000 youngsters each year, ranging in ages from 4-18. LJAL is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
LIVONIA HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
Some 1,000 players and coaches are involved in the hockey program that has served Livonia for 40 years. Youngsters from ages 4-18 participate in introductory programs and form 50 teams in travel and house leagues. For more information on the LHA, call 734-422-5172.
LIVONIA CITY SOCCER CLUB

Livonia takes great pride in the 1,342 acres of parkland throughout the city. Parks in Livonia are spacious and provide wonderful opportunities for picnics, large family gatherings and group functions. At the western edge of Livonia is picturesque Newburgh Lake. LIVONIA FAMILY YMCA
The Livonia Family YMCA lives up to its name by serving as a community center. Here children, parents, grandparents and teens can strengthen their mind, body and spirit in this community environment.
